This 1st Edition MLB bearista was released as part of a partnership between Starbucks and the MLB. Each bear is the series was released only in his home town. He wears a home-game uniform in team colors reading "Giants". On his head is an "SF" logo ball cap with his ears sticking through. There is a special hangtag attached to his left ear. Taiwan 5th Anniversary (2003)

This bearista was released to commemorate the anniversary of the opening of the first Starbucks store in Taiwan. Made of a chenille-fur material and wearing a green apron silkscreened with the Starbucks logo, he is identical to the 2003 Green Apron Bearista except for the addition of the small pin reading "5th Anniversary Taiwan." Green Apron Bearista (2003)

This bearista was released internationally in 2003 and was not available in the US. He is a crinkly chenille-style fur and wears a green Starbucks apron with the Starbucks logo on the front. He has a square hang tag (rather than round) attached to his left ear and a metal 2003 tag attached to his left foot paw. Thanks to Madfishmatt for the photo.

Gondolier Bearista (2003)

This Gondolier Bearista was released without an edition number in 2003 for Valentine's Day. He was available internationally, as well as at a number of North American Starbucks kiosk locations. He is made of a crinkly fur rather than the usual plus. He wears a straw hat with a red ribbon trim, and his ears poke through the hat. His hang tag attached to his left ear features the following poem:

I'll serenade you with a song
as we float right along
We'll watch the stars
shimmer and dance,
in my wonderful gondola
built for romance!

The rest of his outfit follows the gondolier theme, with a red and white striped top, a red satin sash for a belt, and black pants. He has the 2003 metal tag attached to his left foot paw. Thanks to Madfishmatt for the photo. This bearista was also released in a magnet version.
