No More US Bearistas After Easter?

A poster at the Starbucks Stuff Yahoo! Group has stated that there will be no more Bearistas released in the US due to Howard Schultz's recent decision to refocus Starbucks on coffee.  Bearista Tales doesn't have any outside confirmation of this or know what the poster's source is, but it's definitely true they are going to be putting more emphasis on coffee. If there aren't going to be any more bears, then once this site catalogs all the bears it will remain up as a reference.

Izzybear sent in these tidbits -- looks like there will be a new Destination Bear released in time for the Beijing Olympics. Asian collections, keep your eyes open! (Link). And the 73rd and 74th editions have been spotted on eBay -- boy and girl butterfly bearistas for the spring!

New Asian Releases

The newest Starbucks bearistas are launching in Asia. In fact, a little bird tells me that the Year of the Rat Bearista (72nd edition) is already sold out. Bearistas #70 and 71 are the boy and girl Valentine's Bearistas. All three of these bears are already available on eBay. The Valentine's Day bears are also available as magnets.

Welcome to the Starbucks Bearista Fan Page. Starbucks has been making cute little teddy bears since 1997 when they created their first one clad in the signature Starbucks green apron. Today there are more than 70 bears in the domestic Bearista collection, and a host of international and thematic Bearistas. Here we'll try to keep up with the new Bearistas as they come out.
